Abstract:

In this Paper, complete models of three and six phase self commutated synchronous machine drives are presented, considering the effects of both time and space harmonics. First, the equations for calculation of machine inductances are developed. Next, "thyristor-inverter-electric machine" set is modeled in order to derive all the equations for conduction and commutation states. Finally, the results of computer simulation are demonstrated.

Computer Simulation of Ammonia Cold Shot Converter

A mathematical model is developed and tested with plant data for the ammonia cold shot converter of Razi Petrochemical Complex. The model is based on a material and energy balance in a differential element of beds and is subjected to the assumptions of uniform distribution of temperature and composition through a general cross section and negligible mass and heat transfer in axial direction. Th...

Mitigation of Harmonics and Inter- harmonics in VSI-Fed Adjustable Speed Drives

Abstract – The components of harmonics are integral multiple of the fundamental component and the components of inter-harmonics are are non integral multiple of the fundamental component. AC-DC-AC conversion systems used in variable speed drive are sources of inter-harmonics. There are several reasons for inter-harmonic generation in variable speed drives. In this paper, the generation of inter...

Simulation Study of Inverter-Fed Motor Drives

The paper presents models developed to study modulation systems of inverters that supply the induction motor drives. A modelling technique and simulation results are proposed. The benefits of the discontinuous space vector modulation algorithms for the six-step, pulse-width, and continuous space vector control methods are described.

FPGA Implementation Vector Control of Tandem Converter Fed Induction Machine

The paper focuses on the implementation in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) of vector control systems of the induction motor supplied from the tandem (hybrid) static-frequency converter. The paper tries to give a synthesis of the tandem vector control structure implementation. The implementation was made using the library elements for rapid prototyping of vector control systems for inducti...

Harmonics Analysis of Three Phase Matrix Converter Fed Induction Motor Drive in Open Loop Mode

Matrix converter is basically direct three phase to three phase converter and it’s operation is based upon switching pattern of all nine switches, which are available in this converter. The output of ac converter is fed as the input of three phase induction motor. The performance of three phase matrix converter fed induction motor drive is analyzed by the switching pattern obtained by matrix co...
